Dr. Joe “Mr. Fire” Vitale, author of Amazon #1 bestseller The Attractor Factor, has written several other best sellers in his 25 years including a Nightingale-Conant audio program. He has written several books for the American Marketing Association as well as the American Management Association. People in all walks of life including business are beginning to use “alternative” systems of thinking to solve the complicated problems of today. Joe Vitale is right in the thick of this new thinking which is way outside most people's comfortable area. He is the world's first hypnotic writer, a certified hypnotherapist, certified metaphysical practitioner, Chi Kung healer, and ordained minister. He has doctorates in Metaphysical Science and Marketing. Does this get your attention?

How qualified and in-demand he is evidenced by his fee schedule: Consulting $2,500/hr., Sales Letter $25,500, Critique $1,650. The Attractor Factor is a lot cheaper and if you study it well you could find out how to be just like Mr. Fire. This book, for a while, was ranked above the latest Harry Potter offering. How this was done with almost no cost is discussed here. There are some detractors of Dr. Vitale's marketing methods but what he does is no different from what authors and publishers do every day to push their books. Do you really think those “interviews” on radio and TV are spontaneous? They are well-rehearsed advertisements. Even President Clinton spent a lot of time touring the country and signing books to sell his memoirs! Right on, Joe; show us all how to make money without spending a fortune.

In this book Dr. Vitale offers a variety of ways to do what you want. You just need to determine what is best for you. That's one of the strong points in this system: there are many ways to do everything. No book, teacher, or belief system will help everyone in the same way. You must decide what is best for you. But don't simply dismiss a method you know is not exactly what you want. Try to find some way for this incorrect mantra to point you toward something that is right for you. If you just dismiss something you will always be right-and stay right where you are with no improvement.

The President of a Latin American country, when asked why most countries on the Southern Continent are so far behind North America in prosperity replied, “South America was settled by Spanish who came in search of gold, but North America was settled by the Pilgrim Fathers who went there in search of God.” The point of this is where you focus: on your goals or on the spirit that brings them to you.

Step one is the process of defining what you don't want. But you must go further and determine how to turn “I don't want…” into something positive. To dwell on what you don't want makes it a permanent negative force in your life. To rise above step one negativity you may have to go to another level of people outside your normal network. These new faces will bring different ideas to help you become positive.

Step two involves determining just what it is that you want. Amazingly it appears most people have no idea what they really want. Worse is most set small goals when they do figure what they want. Vitale says to think WAY big and do something that is really worthy of doing. To begin the process of actually achieving or getting your goal establish your “intention” to accomplish it. Always think big and go outside your normal surroundings. Vitale says beliefs may not be real things but they always stand between you and achieving your objectives. They become excuses. He believes there's “always a way.” One method around excuses involves three ideas:

· Ask yourself, “I can't do this because …..”
· Ask yourself if there is any possible way to get around your excuses.
· What would you do if there were no excuses?”

Joe Vitale admonishes readers not to fall prey to “hungry ghosts” which are desires like those of a spoiled child wanting everything just because they don't have it. You can attract, through the help of the universe around you, anything you desire. Just be sure your desires come from deep within you and express who you really are rather than some useless whim.

Drawing on a study by Brian Tracy the author suggests writing a list of all your goals and then putting it away for perhaps as long as a year. Tracy's study indicated that 80 % of the goals in his study came true within the year. Vitale takes this further and asks one to write out the few desires they really want in a list and then make another list of what would be even better than one's true desires. All this is leading to the final steps in his process where you just say “I want this or something better.”

Step three involves discovering your spiritual self. This is not a religious experience; it belongs to the fact that you are a living being with a mind tied into the entire universe, your spirituality. There is no proof of spirituality but there also is nothing to disprove it. Dr. Vitale has developed the idea of “getting clear” with one's self which means getting rid of the obstacles within that keep you from attaining goals and desires. If you ask yourself why you don't yet have what you want to have, do, or be and the answer is something other than, “I know it's on the way to me,” you aren't clear inside about what you want. One way to clear yourself is using “Karmic Surgery”, an Eastern method utilizing yagyas and yagnas. These can actually be done for you by trained masters but you can devise ways of releasing yourself from troubling obstacles or helping you achieve your desires by manipulating your mind. Another way of clearing involves scripting which is a statement you can write and recite the ideas you have injected into the script whenever you feel the necessity to clear some mental obstacle. This is explained on page 127 in the book.

Step four the author calls “Nevillize Your Goal” after author Goddard Neville. This is the concept of attracting whatever you want by visualizing in your mind that you have already received your desire. Most self-help discussions do not include this “already received” element but Dr. Vitale believes it releases the energy of emotion. Marketing studies show people do not act for logical reasons but for emotional ones. Emotion can help overcome the barriers instilled in us from birth such as belief in rules, leaders, and other authority. All these beliefs are barriers to achieving our goals primarily because they contain negative elements. Andy Griffith was advised early in his career this way: “When you know what you want, all you really have to do is think it and feel it.” The universe of all the spirits of all things will pick up your thoughts and act on them through you. Here is another opportunity to use scripting: write your feelings of already having what you want. Be sure you actually believe in what you say you want; if you do not passionately feel your desires they will not happen because you will project negativism everywhere. Be grateful for what you want right now and you and it will be attracted toward each other; the Attractor Factor.

Step five is simply to LET GO. Why? If you simply MUST have something you will begin to drive it away. Your mind will not see how you can get your desire and you will begin to give up. Let go of your control of the situation and free the universe to get it for you. When you let go you must realize and trust that whatever happens is for your highest good. Vitale uses TIISG in this step to deal with negative forces. It means “Turn It Into Something Good.” Ask yourself when confronted with a negative, “How can I turn this into something good?” Here is where you may want to take “Inspired Action”, which is any action you take based on a feeling from within. Often such a move will revive your spiritual self in the direction of your desire. Be aware that you move toward your objective by accepting what you desire or something better without needing it. This means you will be satisfied with the outcome no matter what it is. This is the ultimate Attractor Factor secret and the reason for Letting Go. You can turn your goal over to your subconscious and don't worry about how something will be done. Because subconscious is connected with the spirits of everything it will bring you and your goal toward each other.

Simply stated the five steps in the Attractor Factor are:

·
Know what you don't want.
·
State what you do want.
· Clear negative or limiting beliefs.
· Feel what it's like to already have what you want
· Let go so your intuition and subconscious can do all the work.
